The role of the advisor is to offer impartial and objective guidance and support to organisations to develop their operations to meet the minimum requirements of the Hospitality Assured Standard.
The role is one of facilitation and coaching and the advisor can help the organisation recognise its own strengths and areas of improvement.
To adequately support organisations who are interested in seeking accreditation the Advisor should have:
Essential
- Significant Operational management experience within the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry
- Experience in Coaching, Advising businesses and ideally some experience of 1:1 and group training
- Experience of working with quality initiatives
- Be a full member of the Institute of Hospitality or another recognised professional body representing the service sector
- Evidence of active CPD
Desirable
- Experience in running stand alone operations or own business
- Sales and Marketing experience
- Membership of other relevant professional associations
- References from 2 businesses/organisations for whom consultancy has been undertaken
- Relevant Coaching, Training and Development or consultancy skills qualifications
Advisors work on an independent basis and are responsible for formulating client/Advisor contracts and invoicing clients.
The Institute will review Advisors work to ensure that any work undertaken is in line with the requirements of the standard and complies with the Institute of Hospitality’s aims of supporting development and excellence.
Please note in the Highlands Advisors are referred to as Coaches and there work is co-ordinated by Development Partners of Inverness.
