The ExtraCare Charitable Trust delivers Service and Business Excellence

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, which can trace its roots back some twenty years to the Coventry Church Housing Association, has achieved Hospitality Assured.

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust offers older people (aged over 55) activity-based care and support in their own apartments – with their own front doors in 27 complexes which range from schemes with ten flats, to villages with 270. The organisation defines its area of operation as the Greater Midlands, stretching from Warrington in the north to Milton Keynes in the south. The scope of the assessment covered catering and hospitality services provided through management, catering, maintenance, housekeeping and care staff. This particular assessment did not address medical care activities provided by the company.

2006 proved to be a fantastic year for The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, which, apart from Hospitality Assured, won other accolades – including a Bronze Award for Best Retirement Development at the coveted Daily Telegraph 2006 ‘What House?’ awards – for its St Crispin Village in Northampton.

Receiving the Hospitality Award certificate and plaque on behalf of ExtraCare from HCIMA Deputy Chief Executive Ann Corrigan, Chairman of the Board Alan Stark said: “The Hospitality Assured award represents the best standards on a national basis. It is an impressive world-class achievement that highlights the great professionalism and quality of ExtraCare’s staff.”
